Therefore, we have started implementing individual measurement of electricity and hot water. The first property already in operation is Gibraltar Guesthouse. Here you are charged for your individual consumption of electricity and hot water and can influence both the environment and your rent.

Housing hints

22 February, 2022 Områdesnyhet

The spring term has started, we welcome all our new tenants to Chalmers Studentbostäder! Maybe you are moving away from home for the first time, or are used to a larger home. Therefore, we want to give you some hints that can be good to have when you live in a smaller apartment. Prioritize what is important to you! Think about which furniture is important to you. If you want the opportunity to invite to social gatherings, it can be a good idea to invest in a chairbed instead of a bed. Then you create the opportunity to hang by the couch and have space with a dining table in your apartment. If you would rather have a large bed, you can invest in a folding dining table to create plenty of space. Bright colours Bright colors create a feeling of greater space. Grey, beige, and pastel colors are perfect for creating a bright but cozy feeling in your apartment. Storage at height By building storage at height, you make it possible to utilize the storage options to the max. When you live small, it can be good to use closed storage, such as a chest of drawers instead of open shelves. Then you create a tidier feeling in your apartment. Mirrors Mirrors make the room feel bigger than it is. Mirrors in the hall are a common decoration, by also placing mirrors at the dining table, bed, or sofa to make the room feel bigger. Good lighting! Invest in getting good and natural lighting in your apartment. Use several light sources instead of one large one. Then you increase the light in the apartment, which creates a feeling of more space. By investing in thin curtains, you also get better light in your apartment.

Pay your rent with an e-invoice

25 January, 2022 Områdesnyhet

Hope you haven´t missed that you can pay your rent with an e-invoice? To avoid paying your rental invoice on My Pages every month, you can receive this as an e-invoice directly in your internet bank! Please note that you need a Swedish bank account for using this. Below we list 3 benefits of e-invoicing: It is easier to keep track of the bills and avoid late fees. Unlike direct debit where payment is made automatically, you need to approve your payment with E-invoice. You can easily make sure you have money in your account when the payment is made. E-invoice is environmentally friendly. To apply for an E-invoice, proceed as follows: Log in to your Swedish internet bank. Click on "Registration e-invoice" or "Registration of electronic invoice".  Search for the Chalmers Studenthem in the list and register. Done! The e-invoice comes to your internet bank every month. Keep in mind that you need to approve your e-invoice every month, as it is not deducted automatically. If you have problems approving the invoice, please contact your bank.

We want to inform about some useful information that can be good to have with you both as an old and new student and living with us! Renew / activate your membership in the student union When the new semester starts, several union memberships expire. To purchase collect points in our housing queue, and to be allowed to live with us, you need to have a membership in a studentunion,: Chalmers Studentkår Sahlgrenska Akademins Studentkår Konstkåren Göta Studentkår Handelshögskolans i Göteborg Studentkår If you don’t have a membership, you keep the points you have but can unfortunately not get new ones. This means that if your membership has time to expire before you renew it, you will not receive purchase points for the days that you are not a union member. Search for housing Maybe you are a new student and looking for housing in Gothenburg. We offer apartments through our housing queue. You can register in the queue here to start collecting points today. We usually say that you need to be in our housing queue for about 1.5-2 years before you are offered a contract. Therefore, it is important to activate and renew your union membership every semester. As a member of Chalmers Student Union, you collect double points per day. Make sure you have a Swedish personal number in both our system and in the student union. Remember that you need to log in once every six months and update your registration, otherwise you will lose your points. When you move into a new home, your purchase points are reset, then log in to My Pages and reactivate yourself to start collecting points again! You will find our available apartments here.
